Gladys Kincaide's Cornbread

1/2 cup self-rising flour
2 cup corn meal
1 egg
1 T baking powder
1/2 t salt
buttermilk

Mix together and bake at 450 degrees in a 10 inch cast iron skillet, until done, roughly 20 minutes.

Jim's way:
1 c flour
1cup buttermilk
2 T sugar
a bit of fresh ground black pepper

Small skillet:
1/4 c flour
1 cup meal
1/2 T powder
1/4 t salt
